Semi-Senior Accountant – Grimsby

Are you studying accounting and looking to get more in practice experience and a varied client portfolio of your own? 

The role

Our client is a well-established firm providing accountancy, tax and payroll services to their clients – serving a variety of business sizes. With their firm rapidly growing, they are looking to welcome a Semi-Senior Accountant to their team. 

You will be responsible for running your client portfolio, providing them with the full spectrum of accounting, tax and business advice.

Your duties will include

• Preparation of formal statutory financial statements for all types of business structures, including sole traders, partnerships and small to medium-sized limited companies

• Preparation of tax computations and tax liabilities

• Production of individual’s self assessment tax returns

• Undertaking of VAT return reviews on behalf of clients, as well as internal bookkeeping clients

• Liaising with HM Revenue and Customs on behalf of clients

• Responding to ad-hoc client queries, ensuring that they are dealt with promptly and efficiently

• Taking client calls

• Attending client meetings 

• Job planning and management 

What you’ll bring to the table

• AAT qualified

• Experience of working in an accounting role 

• Good computer literacy skills

• Excellent customer service skills

• Reliable and effective workload management, and confident with working to tight deadlines

• Must be a team player

• Confident communicator, with solid interpersonal skills – especially speaking to clients and providers on the phone 

• Willingness to learn

• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
