Our Central London client is actively seeking a stellar and experienced Tax Accountant to join their team as Assistant Manager – Accounts & Corporation Tax. This is an exciting role with an opportunity for progression. The individual who takes on this role will have good communication skills and a desire to work with our team and clients to deliver a great accounts and tax service for corporations.

About the Role

The primary responsibility for the Assistant Manager – Accounts & Corporation Tax role is the preparation of corporation financial statements under FRS 105 and FRS 102, as well as the preparation of the annual corporation tax returns.

The position is “hands-on” and may also require the person to support other areas of the client-facing or operational parts of the business. This will allow the individual to be actively involved in the growth of the business using new technology to improve the way we work.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of the financial statement and corporation tax return process for our clients
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping is essential in order to support our bookkeeping team or clients where required
  • Provide technical accounting advice, supported by senior team
  • Help manage the workflow and deadlines for the accounts and tax returns
  • Keep clients informed of the progress of their accounts and returns, as well as managing client expectations

You will deliver a fantastic client experience and build strong client relationships, ensuring that a standardised financial statement and tax preparation process is followed. Technical accounting advice and guidance will be provided to clients or the internal team as required.

Is this you?

You are either ACA or ACCA qualified with at least two years of post-qualification experience in a similar role. You are a positive, personable and responsive communicator with a collaborative spirit and desire to deliver great service.

Experience:

  • Fully qualified (ACA or ACCA) chartered accountant with at least two (2) years of  relevant post-qualification experience
  • 4-5 years of experience working in a  practice environment (ideally in a medium-sized practice) 
  • Good knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 and applicable reporting standards
  • Strong proficiency with corporation tax returns and compliance

  • Self-starter: you are proactive and prepared to ask questions when unsure
  • Collaborative: you enjoy working in a collegiate environment, supporting others, and seeking help where required
  • Ambitious: you have a hunger to progress, learn and develop in your role

Other important criteria:

  • You are a resident of and legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom without the need of visa sponsorship
  • You are ideally able to start as soon as possible.
