Bookkeeping Tutor – Devon

Do you have a background in accountancy and are looking to teach the future generation of budding accountants?

The role

Our client who is in the training industry is now looking for an accountant who is looking to give back to the next cohort of accountants. They have a higher than average pass rate for their candidates compared to other training providers.

You will be tutoring level 2 bookkeeping, up to apprenticeship level. With a mixture of classroom teaching and virtual calls, this hybrid position offers a blended learning experience to learners.

You will cover Plymouth and Exeter locations, with paid travel expenses.

In this mentorship role, your day-to-day will see varied responsibilities, so each day is different. You will be covering both in person and virtual tutorials, and visiting client sites to review the apprentice’s work and meet employers.

Your duties will include

• Induct learners on their training programme

• Guide the learner through the journey and ensure that they are prepared for the end point assessment

• Plan, delivery and assess learners on their training programmes

• Ensure that all AAT registrations and examinations are planned and carried out in a timely manner

• Supply data to allow the apprenticeship co-ordinator to track learners progress on the electronic portfolio

• Liaise with the apprenticeship co-ordinator on the completion of the 12 weekly reviews

• Ensure that all completion paperwork is accurate and processed through to the admin team ready for claiming

• Work within the AAT protocols and codes of practice

What you’ll bring to the table

• Must have a strong knowledge of accountancy

• Ideally have a background as a Chartered Accountant – Level 4 AAT is desired

• Level 4 teaching award is desired. Our client will put you through the teaching award if this has not been acquired

• Experienced in using Zoom and Microsoft Teams

• Reliable and effective workload management

• Confident communicator, with solid interpersonal skills

• Able to travel to various locations reliably

• Must pass an Enhanced DBS Check

• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
