We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a leading Professional Services Group based in London.

The role

Our client is not your traditional practice and very much moving with the times. The practice is focused on providing top notch service and value for clients and is dedicated to employee development and progression. Due to extensive growth, they are looking to welcome an Accounts Manager to join their team.

Working with the team of accountants, you will be required to complete end to end accounting tasks for a range of SME businesses, using industry leading tools.

Responsibilities 

  • Maintain records of our clients using accounting software packages (including Xero and Sage 50)

  • Use cloud accounting tools to process transactions, prepare and post journals, update all ledgers, perform bank reconciliations ready for the monthly reporting process

  • Make journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions

  • Undertake financial close procedures for the month end

  • Prepare management accounts and month end reconciliations

  • Draft and finalise year end accounts for Limited and LLPs, ready for client and management review

  • Hold client meetings advising them of potential Tax/Accounting implications

  • Preparation of service charge accounts

  • Prepare extended trial balances

  • Prepare cash flow statements

  • Run the monthly payroll for clients, including RTI submissions and pension contribution calculations

  • Prepare corporation tax computation calculations and basic tax planning

  • Deal with the preparation and completion of VAT returns

  • Apply a basic knowledge of rules and regulations followed by UK SME’s

  • Support the Head of Accountancy

  • Training and mentoring junior members of staff

What you bring to the table

  • At least 3-5 years experience within an accountancy practice

  • ACA or ACCA qualified

  • Xero certified user

  • Must be highly organised, proactive and a self-starter

  • Able to prioritise workload

  • Can work well under pressure and in a very busy environment

  • Able to work as part of a team or independently

  • A can-do work ethic

  • Flexible working approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate MS Office, including Excel, Word

  • UK-based with legal authorisation to work in the UK
