Semi-Senior Accountant – Devon

We are actively recruiting a Semi-Senior Accountant to join a growing South West based firm, servicing local clients.

The position is full time and the salary is up to £30,000 DOE.

About the role and workplace:

The practice acts for a variety of clients – from Sole Traders to Limited Companies, across multiple industry sectors.

You will be a confident communicator with both clients and colleagues, have great work ethic, have excellent time-management skills and great attention to detail.

With responsibility for a hands-on delivery and review of accounting, tax and advisory services, each day is different.

Your duties:

• Planning, preparing and reviewing accounts, bookkeeping and VAT for a variety of clients, including: Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies
• Filing VAT returns
• Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and corporation tax returns
• Resolving client queries
• Setting a budget for staff and assisting staff with accounts completion

What you’ll bring to the table:

• AAT qualified or above
• 2+ years experience with an accountancy practice, in a client facing role
• Great attention to detail
• Adept and comfortable communicating with colleagues and clients
• Experience with Xero, Quickbooks and Freeagent
• Bookkeeping and VAT experience
• Strong knowledge of year end accounts and tax preparation from start to review stages for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies below the audit threshold
• A can-do attitude to problem solving
• Reliable and effective workload management in a fast-paced environment
• Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
