Bookkeeper – Whitefield (Greater Manchester)

We are actively recruiting a Bookkeeper to work with an established and growing accountancy practice in the Manchester area. Our client is a firm who focuses on providing the best service to each of their clients. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who is looking to grow into a bookkeeper manager role within 6-12 months. 

They are looking for someone with practice experience or someone from industry who has worked in a large company with multiple departments. Qualifications are a bonus but QBE will also be accepted.

THE ROLE

• Taking accounts up to trial balance
• Preparation of VAT Returns 
• Some weekly and monthly payroll for small clients
• Develop a strong rapport with clients so that they talk about the firm positively to their friends, family and network
• A talent for explaining financial “stuff” and jargon to clients in simple and clear terms
• Communicating with clients as and when required

IS THIS YOU?

Do you have:

• Practical work experience gained within a practice environment 
• Experience in using Quickbooks and Xero
• Experience with taking accounts to trial balance
• Strong IT skills 
• Deal with daily/weekly bookkeeping & VAT return preparation and to be a primary contact to these clients on their record-keeping matters. 
• A real go getter who takes the initiative
• Ability to manage own tasks, good time management and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines 
• Self-discipline, organised, proactive, able to make and justify own decisions

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

• Salary: up to £25,000 – 30,000 (DOE)
• Location: Whitefield, Greater Manchester, mainly on-site but some working from home would be considered
