Cloud CFO / Virtual Finance Director – Remote

Our client looks to hire a Qualified Accountant to join them as their first Cloud CFO (Virtual FD). Our client is a digital accountancy business, born in the cloud, and living in the future. By leveraging technology, offshoring, and using agile working practices they can deliver amazing value to their clients by delivering many of the benefits you’d get from an in-house finance team, but with less risk and for a much lower cost.
Their company is designed & built to run virtually, with no physical offices, and no set working hours. Their team can do most of their work from anywhere in the world that has access to electricity and an internet connection, and currently spans the UK, the Philippines, and India.
About the Role
Your main area of responsibility will be looking after a portfolio of clients and helping them realise their business’ potential. Whether that’s increasing their profitability, reinforcing their asset base, or removing the stress of financial admin – you will be using your superpowers with numbers, technology, and people to guide them on their journey.
You will ultimately be using your knowledge and skills to do immense good by helping purpose-driven start-ups to make an impact on their community, wider society, and the planet.
You may be required to go into clients offices for a face to face meeting, all travel costs will be covered by the company.
To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate these core skills:
- Have the ability to deliver written and verbal communication in a simple, clear, and warm style.
- Be able to analyse financial information and reports, provide insights and ask the obvious-but-powerful questions.
- Be able to challenge clients on their assumptions and ways of thinking, in the style of a critical friend.
- Hold clients to account for completing the actions which they’ve committed to.
- Show a healthy mixture of the heart (because you care about their success) and backbone (because you need to be able to have firm conversations when needed)
What we are looking for
This role will suit someone who:
- Has their ACA, ACCA, or CIMA and enjoys learning about new technologies and adding new skills to their arsenal.
- Has experience managing clients.
- Has excellent people and project management skills and a passion for helping your clients grow with accurate accounts and helpful business advice.
- Isn’t afraid to get stuck in to solve a problem.
- Knows how to maximise efficiency through technology
Is this you?
Do you have:
- A recognised accounting qualification – e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Minimum five years of experience working in finance and accountancy
- Experience in the preparation and review of management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns, Corporation Tax returns, etc
- Experience in a client-management role within an accountancy practice would be an advantage
