About the Workplace

Our client is a vibrant, growing and caring practice with a team who are passionate about helping and advising entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Managing Director of this practice is retiring and handing over the reins to the current second in command. Your role would be to fit into that second in command spot and be prepared to take over in the future.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant who looks to progress into a leadership position. In this role you will:

• Producing statutory accounts for clients ranging from sole traders up to businesses with £1 million turnover
• Meeting with clients to discuss their business’ needs and how you can support them
• Act as a primary contact for clients
• Assisting clients with tax queries when required
• Add value to basic services (management accounts, taxation, business advise, payroll, bookkeeping, and company formation)

This is a ‘next generation’ opportunity for the right candidate to take the reins as Partner. You will be coached, mentored and supported to eventually run the practice.

What we are looking for

This role will suit an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant looking to progress to a Partner role. You have excellent people and project management skills and a passion for helping your clients grow with accurate accounts and helpful business advice. You have experience meeting with clients and ideally have experience of managing a practice in a past role. 

You aren’t afraid to get stuck in to solve a problem. You know how to maximise efficiency through technology, and you have a broad range of skills from accounting to taxation.

Is this you?

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
• High people management, organisational and communication skills
• Hands-on problem-solver with a passion to help others
• Sound project management skills with experience in successfully managing a client portfolio
• Experience producing statutory accounts, as well as some tax knowledge (CTA would be ideal)
